DzenAI sets itself apart by using a unique learning-by-playing method, where users actively train the AI by driving virtual cars. Unlike other self-driving AIs, DzenAI focuses on community-driven learning and aims to become an open-source platform. The full write-up is still in the works (see above), but in short: a heightmap is generated with a custom algorithm similar to Perlin noise, and the road's midline is traced through that heightmap using simple rules on gradient and curvature. The environment is rendered in chunks of different resolutions based on how close to the road's midline they will appear.
EVs work well in this context for a few reasons: they're quieter and more peaceful; they're simpler and more intuitive to gamify (no gears or RPM concerns); and they're the future — combustion engines are quickly becoming old-fashioned.
